The Family Life Center (FLC) is a private agency which provides short term long-term and emergency assistance for homeless women and their children. This center works as a collaboration between government agencies non-profits private foundations and community members in the area. There are shelters for women who have lost homes to foreclosure and are struggling with substance abuse domestic violence or illegal drug use. The Family Life Center has programs that help with emergency needs housing counseling education job placement and medical assistance.
