“To Serve Our Neighbors Through Community Improvement” is the mission of a newly formed Arkansas organization called the Northeast Arkansas Community MH Center Inc. The mission statement is as follows:

This organization serves residents of the North East Arkansas communities of West Memphis Little Rock Bentonville Pine Bluff and Conway including those who are uninsured and underinsured. This organization is governed by a board of directors that consists of a volunteer board of directors a board of physicians (physician-in-chief) and a board of administrators. The board members are elected through a simple majority vote and they have the responsibility of providing the necessary financial support as well as providing ongoing services. The board members also ensure that each member of the board is committed to serving the needs of the board’s communities. For the past ten years the organization has provided a variety of community assistance programs and community events.

The Board of Directors meets monthly in the northwest Arkansas area and its meetings are held at various churches community centers and other venues. It is a non-profit organization with tax status so donations are not tax deductible. The board meets to discuss important issues such as the future of the organization and how the organization can serve our neighbors better and increase community awareness and participation. Please consider all this in 2006.
