“Sober Living House in Transitional Housing is a 24-hour seven-day a week residential service that provides an array of services to assist and encourage individuals transitioning out of the hospital system or correctional facility to live independently at the Sober Living House. “Sober Living” has two primary programs. The first is “Sober Living for Seniors” which can be found on the Sober Living website and offers housing assistance for older adults with a specific focus on substance abuse mental health challenges and other problems related to senior living. The second is “Sober Living for Youth” which offers housing for youth who have substance abuse or other challenges associated with their youth.
Transitional Housing provides safe living opportunities for homeless children and families by helping them gain a secure place to live while they are still in the care of the Department of Social Services (DSS). “Transitional Housing is a state-funded service that offers permanent homes for homeless children youth and families with families in need. The goal is to assist homeless children and youth to remain in foster homes for as long as they are needed and then to enter permanent homes after receiving services from DSS. “When we refer to our services as transitional” it doesn’t necessarily mean that there is a loss of freedom of movement. We are very mindful of the fact that most children and families are not going to be able to move out of transitional housing until they are ready.
“Red Mountain Sedona is a community of supportive individuals dedicated to giving young people an opportunity to live a responsible rewarding life free of drugs alcohol and drug use. “When we refer to our services as transitional” it doesn’t necessarily mean that there is a loss of freedom of movement. We are very mindful of the fact that most young people aren’t going to be able to move out of transitional housing until they are ready. As a result they may need to take temporary living arrangement in our transitional housing. There are a number of transitional living arrangements available to help them learn how to make an enduring change from living on the streets to living in their own homes. “We know that some young people become so involved in street gangs or gang activity that it becomes impossible for them to go back to school or to continue to attend school without having the support of family and friends. Sober Living for Youth gives youth and families an opportunity to learn new skills build new relationships and experience hope.”
