Alcoholics Anonymous was created in 1939 by a man named Bill Wilson. This organization has been known to be the very foundation for Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). This group of people has taken their mission to offer hope guidance and recovery to people who suffer from alcoholism. Alcoholics Anonymous is not only a place where alcoholics can talk about their problems and their addiction but also a place that offer a place to get the needed help to become sober.
Alcoholics Anonymous consists of twelve people who share their problems with one another. Alcoholics Anonymous is a global fellowship with the stated goal of helping its members to “stop drinking and help other alcoholics to reach sobriety through group discussion and work together in an effort to overcome addiction.” Alcoholics Anonymous is non-profit non-competitive and non-religious. Its only requirement is that the alcoholic has a genuine desire to quit drinking. AA believes in the power of the human spirit and the power of a person’s will. It also believes that there are many reasons as to why the alcoholic drinks. AA also believes that there are many solutions available to those who are alcohol dependent.
A lot of people try out different methods before they find the one that works for them which is why it is crucial that an alcoholic tries out Alcoholics Anonymous before trying to find one that works for him. In fact many people have tried joining Alcoholics Anonymous and found out that it was not really working for them. If the alcoholic has tried this method in the past then he might want to try it again because it might be the answer that he has been looking for. You can join the AA by contacting your local chapter and asking for more information.
