As the Arizona State Representative for District 3, I am very proud to be part of the tribe of Tulsans – the Ojibwe Indians. And it is so exciting to be able to serve as a member of such a unique culture in an area where there are so many different tribes living together. If you visit our beautiful state capital of Phoenix, you can also get up close and personal with many of the Ojibwe. But before we get into all that, let’s first get to know the person behind the desk…
Tabitha Barber is a resident of Tucson, who has served as a U.S. Representative since January 2006. She was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives by the Democratic Party and is a registered Republican. She grew up near Fort McDermitt, on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. This is a very important reservation, and it is where Tabitha Barbers mother grew up. Her mother would often talk about the different Native American tribes, and how she had great respect for their beliefs.
Tabitha Barber has also taken the initiative to bring this Indian culture to her home state of Arizona. She is one of the most proud Indian Americans. She understands that every state and tribal jurisdiction have their own unique culture and tradition. One thing that she and her staff are certain of though is that there is no more beautiful state in the entire United States than Arizona. It is absolutely beautiful! I have known her for a very long time and am proud to be part of such a remarkable community, and I hope that you will give this representative the opportunity to serve you in the future.
