In a rather interesting article in Helena Daily Capital dated July 7 Helena resident Mary Taylor stated “I have been a lifelong resident of Helena” and she was asked “what’s the biggest problem you’ve experienced within your community?” She replied” The number one problem is a person using drugs. So I decided to begin a local nonprofit organization to help those individuals who need help.
“Mid-South Health Systems has now entered into an exclusive affiliation agreement with Arissa Health3 with three other community mental health agency organizations covering 41 counties” and “The Center is a 24-hour seven-day a week fully equipped and staffed community drug and alcohol treatment facility.” Ms. Taylor said that the center is staffed with drug and alcohol recovery specialists who are ready to help any person struggling with drug addiction substance abuse or other mental disorders. She stated “They offer a variety of treatment programs for their patients” and stated “Our goal is to make it easy for individuals who may have been turned away from traditional treatment programs.”
The treatment programs offered at the center include residential and outpatient inpatient and out patient. It is my hope that in addition to an alcohol and drug treatment center this organization will also offer other mental illness treatment options such as outpatient counseling. They have many counselors available who are qualified to work with clients who are facing mental health challenges. The Helena Community Mental Health Center Inc. has been helping residents in Helena Arkansas for over 10 years. Helena resident Mary Taylor said “I am just thrilled to be able to help people in need no matter where they’re from. I’m glad that we have found an organization like Mid-South Health Systems that is willing to partner with us and help our community.”
