Researchers stated that addiction treatment services for street sex workers could be improved if the unique experiences and effects of those experiences could be openly addressed. “Failure to adequately address trauma when attempting to reduce drug use in this group may underpin the lack of effective drug treatment for [street sex workers],” they stated.
