The AO Health Resources of Arkansas Inc. is a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to provide quality care and service for residents of the City of Aroostook County. It is an accredited agency by the Department of Health Services (DHS) and certified by the Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) as a provider of quality care to its residents. The clinic is located at 7400 Poynette Road in Heber Springs Arkansas just east of Highway 101 in the Town of Aroostook.
AO Health Resources of Arkansas Inc. was created in 1978 by the merger of the AHA Health Program Incorporated AHA Health and Hospitals of Arkansas Inc. and AHA Health Resources Inc. and provides care services to residents of Aroostook County. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors made up of four directors from the community who are elected annually by their fellow residents at a meeting called a Board Meeting. There are three Executive Directors of AO Health Resources of Arkansas Inc. which is appointed by the Mayor of Aroostook.
The board meetings are open to the public and can be attended by individuals families organizations or groups and businesses. The Board meets monthly at 5:00 pm and each meeting is recorded on a calendar so that it is available for future reference. Each meeting is held in the same room as the board meetings were held in the year before. Public speakers may also be invited to speak at Board Meetings.
