As a member of the professional body for Addiction and Drug Addiction, Dr. Robert J. Henley is the founder and president of Hennepin County Professional Association, which represents professionals in the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. A licensed psychologist in Phoenix AZ, Dr. Henley has been involved with many programs in the area of substance abuse treatment. He was the creator of the first drug intervention and drug rehab program in Arizona, and he developed Phoenix’s substance abuse treatment programs in the 1970’s. In addition to his professional involvement in addiction treatment and counseling, Dr. Henley is an author of numerous books on this subject matter. The most recent of these books, entitled “The Last Resort: Recovering From Alcoholism and Drug Addiction” is about an addiction treatment program in the U.K. where Dr. Henley also works. I recently had the opportunity to interview Dr. Henley on the subject of drug and alcohol addiction.
