The Northern Arizona VA Health Care System is a large, state of the art mental health and medical facility located in Phoenix, AZ. This is a well known facility that has a wide variety of services and amenities for veterans and their families.
The residents at the facility will receive care from qualified mental health professionals, a skilled staff that offers both inpatient and outpatient treatment, as well as a variety of other specialty services and programs. They will get individual attention with their unique needs in mind. Many of the services and programs available at the facility are specifically designed to improve the mental health and well being of the residents while also assisting with the treatment and rehabilitation of their post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse and/or psychiatric disorders. They will receive specialized treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure therapy to help them overcome phobias and anxiety disorders and help them cope with traumatic stress and depression. They may also be involved in group therapies and can participate in other support groups or activities to keep their spirits up.
Residents in the residential rehab program will also receive a variety of other specialized services including, but not limited to, physical therapy, in-home education and therapy, nutrition, social work, massage therapy and counseling, acupuncture and herbal therapy. There is a full array of specialty therapies available for different needs and problems. This is done to help address the needs of each individual and their family. In many cases, a family member or close friend may provide the physical assistance needed by the resident when they are not able to handle on their own.
