The Salvation Army of Northwest Arkansas also known as the Salvation Army Northwest Arkansas is a Christian non-profit organization that provides services and support to people in the areas of the country affected by poverty hunger and disease. It is based in Fayetteville Arkansas where the residents are known for their kindness to others and their willingness to help those who need it. The services offered by the organization are geared to meet the needs of its recipients as well as to encourage others to contribute towards the charity’s cause.
The organization was started in 1940 when William Roper created a program named “The Home for the Aged” in Fayetteville Arkan. This project provided a home to many people in need of temporary accommodation. Many who lived at the Home for the Aged were recovering alcoholics. Many of these people would stay in Fayetteville trying to overcome their addiction. Eventually the organization expanded into the city of Fayetteville and began providing other services including housing. As the need grew the organization was able to purchase homes in nearby Bentonville and eventually all over Northwest Arkansas. The main aim of the organization is to provide a warm safe and clean environment for the residents in order to recover from their problems and to find a way to live a life free of alcohol.
The Salvation Army offers a wide range of services to its residents in Fayetteville including basic assistance with bills such as utility payments rent payment and food preparation and distribution. They offer medical and mental health programs that can provide medical attention for any residents who may need it. There are many members of the community that volunteer to take care of the residents and give them an extra boost during rough times. Those who need assistance getting into a house can turn to the organization for help as well. Those who need a place to stay when they leave the residence can also look for a local agency that offers assistance in finding homes to rent and other options to pay for the residents’ housing needs. The Salvation Army of Northwest Arkansas offers a wide variety of services for those who suffer from alcohol or drug addictions.
