Aletheia House was founded by an alcoholic, as an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) chapter in 1969. This nonprofit organization offers its members affordable, accessible and effective substance abuse and addiction treatment. The Substance Abuse Treatment Program at Aletheia House provides comprehensive treatment for individuals who are struggling with substance abuse and addiction. Substance abuse refers to any use of drugs, alcohol or other substance to the extent that it interferes with daily living. Aletheia House serves the residents of Birmingham’s North Birmingham area with quality substance abuse and addiction treatment programs.\n\nAletheia House provides substance abuse and addiction treatment to those who are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. It is one of the most successful and nationally recognized programs for substance abuse treatment, HIV/AIDS awareness, employment assistance, housing counseling and social services. Aletheia House works with its clients to help them understand the impact that substance use and abuse have on their lives, their families and their communities, and the need for intervention.
