When you give items to The Salvation Army Thrift Store these items are later sold in our Family stores. Proceeds from each sale are used to support our adult rehabilitation centers where individuals struggling with addictions and alcoholism find a second chance at living a life that does not involve drugs or alcohol. Most importantly the proceeds from the sales of these items can benefit the people in our programs. These funds go toward things like helping people find employment and homes assisting in medical expenses paying for emergency food and shelter as well as many other necessities.
We are a Christian organization with a mission of love and compassion. Our services include housing counseling job placement education financial assistance and outreach to the community. We also provide assistance to those in need with their transportation needs. Some of the items that we receive through our programs are household goods clothing food household appliances baby products furniture electronics and much more. The items that we sell at the Thrift Store are donated from individuals such as those who have found a way to save from foreclosure are going back to school are facing eviction from their homes or have recently gone through a major life transition.
If you would like to donate some items please visit our Thrift Store and speak to one of our associates. They will be able to explain to you all of the benefits that you can receive by donating to the Salvation Army. They will also be able to tell you whether or not you are eligible for a tax deductible donation. After making an online donation they can send a receipt to you and then you can use this receipt to pay for your items.
