The Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona Inc – El Pueblo in Casa Gran, AZ is a wonderful place to live. There is a strong bond between the community and the Holy See and many people from the community go on pilgrimages to Rome for a year or two. The Pope visits there frequently as well as all the cardinals. It is a Catholic community service that gives many gifts to people in need and to feed the hungry in this beautiful desert area. We were able to come here to help out with a food drive.
This was a blessing for the children in this area and it was great to see the people come out to help. It was great to have a few extra hands to help out during the day. Some of the children were very grateful to have someone there to help. The food that I helped out with was delivered in the church parking lot by volunteers that had their own vehicle. It wasn’t difficult for them to get a large amount of food to the people that needed it. They also picked up some plates for some of the other areas in the area. They were able to use a table and chairs at the church to take care of all the food that was brought in and to put plates and silverware on it for everyone to pick up to distribute.
I am sure that the food will not be the only thing that gets picked up. There are many other people that were in need of assistance that were going to need some food as well. Some of the people that were not able to eat were very grateful that they were able to have the food brought in for them. The children that were able to come in were excited to see the food that they were getting. I am sure that they enjoyed the food just as much as the people that came in were enjoying it. We were able to help out with a food drive and have fun at the same time.
