Community Health Associates is a program that provides training for health and social care professionals who work with the elderly in both the private and public sectors. The program will teach students how to provide services to those that may be in need of assistance in one way or another. The program was started in 1965 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The goal of the organization was to provide services to the people that were not receiving such services.
The program was designed to help make the medical field more accessible to the people who may be in need of medical help in areas such as elder care mental health and substance abuse and other related services. In order to become a CNA one must first pass the NCLEX-RN examination which is designed to assess the medical knowledge of nursing assistants. Once the person has completed the exam they are able to enroll in the program.
There are different types of schools that offer this program. For people who are interested in getting a higher education in order to get a better job a CNA degree is one way to do so. If one does not have the time or money to attend a traditional college they can also find courses online. Many different universities offer courses in this field and one can find these online at colleges that offer general education courses.
