Crowleys Ridge Development Council Northeast Arkansas Regional Recovery Center is an Arkansas Department of Corrections prison where the prisoners who are in the rehabilitation program are being held. The facility was built and is being operated by the state prison system but has been funded by an organization of private citizens namely the Crowleys Ridge Development Council.
In addition to providing housing to the inmates Crowleys Ridge has been a very effective rehab center. It is one of the few prison facilities which are able to provide a great deal of aftercare services for the inmates. After each day in prison the inmates who were in the rehabilitation program are brought to the prison’s gymnasium. There they are given a program of exercise. A member of the team from the rehab center also leads the inmates through group activities which are supervised by staff members from the prison. At night the inmates go to the jail’s recreation center. There they can go to the movies or hang out with their fellow inmates all the while being supervised by trained professionals who know exactly what to do if there are any problems during the day.
Another important advantage of this rehab center is that it provides a lot of academic support to its inmates. Inmates at this correctional facility attend school each day. They are assigned an instructor and they are taught by instructors who are also from the rehabilitation center. This enables them to take college classes at their own pace without having to face a lot of social pressure because they are enrolled in the same class as their fellow inmates. Other benefits of this prison treatment center include the fact that it is fully accredited and licensed to conduct correctional services.
