New Beginnings Recovery - Talladega AL 35160

Started in 1986 by three recovering alcoholics, New Beginning Recovery Center of Opelousa, La. began as a one-room facility by two recovering doctors who came from different areas of their own personal lives: Dr. Robert Ketchman, a former addict, and Dr. Stephen Wiltse, a former alcoholic who also suffered from alcohol dependency. The center is known for its unique blend of both healing and treatment techniques and the residents receive a complete treatment plan that consists of an integrated, individualized approach.\n\n \n\nOriginally housed on the grounds of the original Opelousas nursing home on Westland Street, the New Beginnings recovery center of Opelousa was designed to be a private, residential, therapeutic environment. Started with just 24 beds, the facility quickly grew to include an additional twenty-four rooms and a small open courtyard with an on-site restaurant. Today, the New Beginning Recovery Center is home to over a hundred residents with a wide variety of medical and emotional problems. The facility also features an inpatient detoxification unit, a private in-house drug abuse treatment center, and a variety of out-patient support programs. Patients are assisted in the provision of adequate, quality life skills through a variety of on-site and online resources and services. New Beginning offers its residents a unique opportunity to participate in a fully integrated, individualized program that includes treatment for alcohol dependence, substance abuse, mental health, and physical illness.\n\n \n\nFor the past 27 years, New Beginnings has provided the services necessary to help residents cope with the challenges faced by those with an addiction to alcohol or other substances. A combination of medication and cognitive-behavioral therapy, the center offers both individual and group therapy to the residents and a variety of outpatient treatment programs. It has also developed specialized recovery programs for teens who are recovering from alcoholism. The center continues to expand its program offerings to address needs and wants from the community.
