Today’s society is very concerned with mental health and this is where affiliated mental health services come into play. They are not your traditional mental health agency. They are more like a network of people who have the same interests in helping people who need it most. In order to be considered an affiliated provider, a program must meet certain criteria including: it has a board of directors, it is not a private agency, it is not a hospital or a clinic, it is not inpatient in nature and it does not receive funds from the state or federal government programs. These requirements are necessary to ensure that the program has the proper licensing to operate legally.
The programs that fall under these criteria are called networked mental health agencies. They also participate in the National Council on Mental Health’s National Mental Health Month. The NCMH (National Council on Mental Health) is an organization dedicated to providing information to all mental health professionals on mental disorders and the best way to treat them. Many networks are also involved in other activities. For example, some of them partner with other mental health agencies to provide training and tools to mental health providers.
While mental health agencies do not receive funding from government programs, they can be found through online searches. Many of these sites offer links to the agencies you are looking for and will direct you to their website so you can contact them. If they cannot provide you with a link or contact information you can visit their website for additional information.
