The Medical Center at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center is one of the largest hospital systems in the United States. It houses the largest medical center in Alabama, providing treatment for both internal and external diseases. This medical center is part of the Tenet Healthcare network, which offers specialty clinics and hospitals to all areas of the country. The Medical Center at Brookwood is owned by Dallas-headquartered Tenet Healthcare Corporation. The system was established in 1970 by former residents of Brookwood Hospital and is considered a model system.\n\n \n\nThe medical center has four branches: the Brookwood Baptist Medical Center Family Care, the Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, West Shore Medical Center, and the Brookwood Baptist Medical Center Family Practice. The Medical Center provides a variety of care including pediatric, adult, and family care services for all age groups. The hospital serves a metropolitan area and offers a number of outpatient and acute care facilities. In addition to medical care, the hospital also provides a range of non-medical services such as rehabilitation, patient education, and family support services.\n\n \n\nAll of the Brookwood Baptist Medical Centers are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAP). The center is home to the only neonatal intensive care unit in Alabama, offering intensive care, monitoring, and ventilation for neonatal babies.
