The Guidance Center serves a very large part of the Flagstaff area. The Guidance Center is a community center that has three main buildings. The building on the east serves as the main office for the center where counselors work with their patients and the children who attend the center. The other two buildings contain the Children’s Center which are for children up to the age of thirteen and the Family Center which are for those who are twelve years or older. The Guidance center also has a recreation center which provides a wide range of activities for the children and adult residents of the facility.
The Flagsmith Center is another facility located in the area that provides a wide range of mental health services. This facility provides many different programs including therapy education and family services. The center offers many different types of programs that include group therapy individual counseling and private counseling services. The center also has a rehabilitation and education center. This center works to educate children and families about various life issues including self-confidence and social skills healthy eating weight loss and many other important issues. Both the center and the community centers are funded by federal grants.
