Intermountain Center for Families and Children (ICFC) is a large inner-city non-profit corporation providing free preschool care for hundreds of low-income children in the Denver Metro area. Founded at the beginning of 1973 in Tucson InterMountain centers is committed to the delivery of high-quality personalized and comprehensive care to low-income children who exhibit extremely difficult behavioral patterns. Located in central Denver Colorado ICFC has nine different centers. The organization was started by two Native American parents who felt that the public school system was not providing their child with the type of care they needed. Since then ICFC has grown into a multi-state organization offering an array of quality services to families all over the United States.
When you first consider enrolling your child in a program at ICFC it is important that you realize that these children have special needs and that the level of care is based on the level of difficulty the child presents. Children with very severe behavior problems need to be treated very differently than children with milder issues. Even though there are children that do not fit in at ICFC you can rest assured that the child will receive the very best care and therapy in an environment that will give the child the best chance to succeed. All ICFC children are evaluated according to their level of risk for violence abuse or neglect.
While many of our children get great results from the programs and services offered by ICFC there are a small percentage of children who struggle for years with behavioral issues. One of the ways that we provide children with these children is through intensive therapeutic daycare. In the daycare children receive individual attention every day to work on behavior issues with the goal of improving their lives. These children go home each day knowing that they are cared for and taken care of and that their needs are being met. As your child moves into the community he or she will receive more structured care based on what you have selected for him or her.
