What is Mental Health? It is simply a state of mental well-being or lack thereof. It is that state of somebody who is “functioning properly at a satisfactory degree of emotional and psychological adjustment.” I know what you’re thinking, but that is a very subjective definition and it depends on the definition of “adequate emotional and psychological adjustment” for every single person who is diagnosed as having a condition. I am a firm believer in the concept of “personal growth,” but if we are to use a subjective definition to gauge how “functional” a person is we will be limiting the true meaning of it all. There are many forms of mental illnesses, but when it comes to mental health, we should focus on all aspects of mental health.
I know you are asking, “What are the mental health issues that I should be worried about? “, well, it depends on who you ask. The main areas of mental health that are a concern to me are: substance abuse, depression and anxiety, phobias, self-esteem, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorders, and ADHD. Some people are prone to more than one of these issues, while others only have a few. If you are concerned with your own mental health then it is important that you seek out a professional for help.
There are many resources available online that can help you find the answers to your mental health issues. They may also be able to give you some basic tips that you can use right now to improve your mental health. For example, if you have a phobia, then you may want to avoid the fear and learn some techniques to overcome the fear. Once you get over the fear, you will have a much better mental health and confidence. Also, remember to eat a balanced diet and exercise regularly. Mental health is a major factor in life and can be a determining factor in whether you succeed or fail in life. I believe that anyone who suffers from a mental illness or mental health issues has a greater chance of achieving success if they have the proper support and care from family and friends.
