Mental Health is the extent of mental health or the absence of mental disease. It is a state of a person who is “performing at an acceptable level of behavioral and emotional adjustment”. Psychologists use mental health to analyze a person’s mental capacity, as a measure for self-esteem and to identify disorders in a person’s life. Mental Health refers to the condition of a person’s competence. A person suffering from mental health problems is defined as one who lacks the capacity to deal with daily activities, has difficulty in understanding or remembering things, has persistent problems with concentration, can’t maintain relationships, has difficulty in planning ahead, has trouble with problem solving, is unable to make decisions and is incapable of problem solving. Mental Health refers to the extent of a person’s mental competence or capacity. It is also the general idea about how a person deals with emotional and psychological situations.

Mental Health is one of the most important aspects of human beings. Without it, a person’s entire being is affected. A person with Mental Health would never be able to get on with the normal life. So in order to develop the mental health, a person needs to be free from mental diseases and the best way to do this is through proper counseling sessions. In fact, there are many types of counseling programs like Family Counseling, Drug Treatment, etc. which can help a person to get rid of his mental illnesses.

There is also a misconception among people that only the people who are suffering from mental illnesses have mental health. Mental Health is not limited to people who are suffering from mental illnesses. People who are not suffering from any mental illnesses but are still undergoing the treatment for the said illness have the same mental health as other people. They just need to undergo proper treatments to cure their mental illnesses. So, for getting rid of mental illnesses one should first consult a professional and then follow all the necessary steps to get rid of the mental illnesses.
