Mental Health is a term used to define a person’s mental, emotional, and/or psychological wellness. Mental Health is the general level of well-being of a person or persons; it is their state of being “functioning at an acceptable level of mental and behavioral adjustment.” The mental health of an individual is defined as how they are feeling emotionally and psychologically in relation to their daily life. It also describes how they are functioning in social situations, at work, and in school, as well as in their personal life.

The best way to know about the overall mental health of a person is through the use of a questionnaire known as the Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI-ANES). This questionnaire consists of seven questions that are all designed to measure various aspects of the mental and emotional health of an individual. These questions are: What is your level of stress or fear; do you feel depressed or have a lack of energy or sleep; is there any substance abuse in your family; are you having difficulty sleeping, are you experiencing feelings of guilt, worry, or shame; are you suffering from any phobias or obsessive compulsive disorder; and do you have any memory loss or dementia? By answering these questions the patient can determine if they are functioning at a satisfactory level of health. The results of these questionnaires can provide a good indication of whether or not the patient has a problem that requires medical attention.

As a result of this information, mental health specialists will be able to make a more informed decision when deciding whether or not to offer treatment for an individual. Because the diagnosis of a person’s mental health is based on their responses to questions, it is important that they receive proper care and assistance. A mental health specialist will be able to evaluate the patient’s specific needs so that they can provide them with the appropriate help and support. In most cases, the best course of action is to seek out the advice of a mental health professional, such as a psychologist, a psychiatrist, or a registered mental health professional. These individuals have been trained in providing the necessary services to ensure that they have the right understanding of the individual and their particular mental health concerns.
