In the award winning movie The Princess and the Frog the story starts with a beautiful princess played by Cate Blanchett who lives in a tiny house by the sea. Her name is Tilda and she is the daughter of a wealthy and respected man and has been raised by her father to be a true princess. When the handsome Prince Naveen arrives she allows him to stay at her home and help her with her cooking. Over the years the two grow closer and as the story unfolds their relationship grows into a romance love and friendship.
Meanwhile a prince from another kingdom who is actually a thief also shows up at the house of Tilda who lives a peaceful life with her father and her best friend the wise magical Naveen. Naveen teaches Tilda the importance of friendship and she realizes that a true princess must have many friends to help her complete her quest. Eventually she finds that true magic can be found in a young orphan girl named Ariel who lives in another realm and helps her friend Naveen gets back to his homeland on the other side of the world.
Tilda’s magic proves useful throughout the film as she helps both Ariel and Naveen. When she is kidnapped by an evil witch she is saved from death by Naveen and Ariel. While he is away she manages to save Ariel from a boar but is left with scarring and a terrible spell that keep Ariel locked up in the house of the witch. Ariel manages to get back to Naveen and they escape before the witch breaks the spell.
