Wen has been at the center of the fight to take down drug and alcohol addiction in Baltimore. One of her latest efforts to help educate the public on what to do if they witness an overdose was a naloxone tutorial at Brown Memorial Park Avenue Presbyterian Church in Baltimore.

A year ago, Wen made the medication available across the city with a standing order to further help people who need drug and alcohol treatment. She stated that after people arrive at the center, via ambulance, they will be examined by emergency medical technicians who will decide if the patients meet the criteria for treatment.

A trial version of the drug and alcohol treatment center has opened this week and is currently serving 10 to 15 patients. The Stabilization Center is expected to be ready by the next spring.
