Burning Tree West is a Transitional Housing Community in the Tucson Arizona area. The community was established in 2020 and is situated on the grounds of a former campfire restaurant in Tucson. The name was inspired by the beautiful Burning Tree a tree that stands at the base of an ancient volcano that erupted millions of years ago. The ashes left by the eruption from the volcano have covered part of the land surrounding Tucson since then. The “Burning Tree” symbolized the hope for change that accompanies change. This community provides support and resources to residents to aid them in achieving a healthy lifestyle and self-sustaining lifestyle.
Transitional Housing communities provide a variety of services including but not limited to a health care clinic day care recreation facilities senior centers and a library. A community center offers educational opportunities for residents with disabilities. The community center has a fitness room pool clubhouse and sauna. A fitness center basketball court mini golf and other sports activities are also available.
Burning Tree West’s community website states that the purpose of the community is to promote wellness individuality creativity and responsibility. The community focuses on education and awareness. The community’s mission statement is “to develop a lifestyle that is satisfying and beneficial to you your family and friends and to help you build strong relationships with those you love.” Burning Tree also provides services and programs to those who are experiencing difficulties. Services include but are not limited to financial counseling employment and education assistance health care services legal assistance and referrals housing assistance drug treatment and legal advice. Transitional Housing communities are designed to assist individuals in transitioning into their new life. Services may include individual group and family counseling as well as other specialized services.
