Dr. Abolade is a pediatrician and psychiatrist who is board certified by the American Board of Child and Adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Abolade graduated from the University of Michigan School of Medicine where he completed his master’s degree and specialized in psychiatry and pediatric, general medicine. He completed his fellowship in General Psychiatry at The Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and completed his residency in Pediatric Psychiatry. In addition, he served as a consultant for the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Juvenile and Domestic Violence. Dr. Abolade also worked with a number of community and juvenile groups throughout the United States and Canada.
Dr. Abolade specializes in the treatment of adolescents and children with psychiatric disorders. As a pediatrician and psychiatrist, he helps patients with co-morbid conditions that include ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder, as well as substance abuse or other serious psychological disorders. He treats both young patients and adults who may have suffered serious mental and/or behavioral problems. He treats a range of conditions ranging from depression and anxiety to bipolar disorder and bipolar spectrum disorders. Additionally, Dr. Abolade is an expert in treating children with behavioral disorders such as ODD and ADHD.
In addition to treating children with developmental disorders, he counsels families about the best way to help their kids manage their symptoms. He counsels parents about the dangers of drug abuse, and is an advocate for teens who struggle with peer relationships. He is committed to helping young patients deal with social problems as well as issues related to school. In addition, he is an advocate for parents who want to be a part of their child’s recovery process and is committed to helping children and adolescents who are struggling with issues like sexual orientation, obesity, and drug abuse.
