Mary’s Shelter provides Transitional Housing for women and couples who have experienced domestic violence. The shelter is run by a board of volunteer directors. The shelter is staffed 24 hours a day seven days a week. Executive Director supervises all aspects of running the shelter.
Women in the community come to the shelter for shelter assistance as well as a safe place to live. It’s a very welcoming environment for women who have been sexually abused stalked or suffered other types of abuse. Many people in the community are in crisis and need help to get through their lives. The shelter staff will provide information and support on how to cope with the problems of everyday life. The staff will also help you find employment and housing after you leave the shelter.
The shelter is very welcoming and offers counseling respite care and educational programs for women who have suffered abuse. The shelter is also known to offer job training and placement. The staff at the shelter also encourages women to make a difference in their lives by helping to bring about change in someone else’s life. The staff is knowledgeable and compassionate.
