Mental health is often described as the degree of mental condition or mental well-being. It’s the state of a person that is “functioning well at a good level of social and emotional adjustment”. Mental Health issues can be as broad or as specific as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, alcoholism and drug addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorder, sleep disorder and many others. A mental health issue can sometimes lead to physical problems such as low blood pressure and high blood pressure. So, it is very important to pay attention to our minds and see if there are any signs of distress and to seek professional help immediately if there are.

When it comes to treating mental health problems, there are several different types of treatments that have been used. Some of these treatments are known as psychotherapy, counseling and even medication and natural treatment. Psychotherapy is a form of treatment that uses psychological treatment to help in dealing with an individual’s mental health problems. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a form of treatment that aims at identifying the problem and then changes the way that a person thinks. This helps an individual to change some of his negative thought patterns and eventually, the negative thoughts start to fade away. The process of cognitive behavioral therapy can take up to one year before the symptoms of a mental health issue clear up. After cognitive behavioral therapy, there is a period of adjustment that usually lasts for about three months.

Depression on the other hand is another form of mental health issue that deals with the depression of a person. The major treatment for depression is the antidepressant drugs. These antidepressants block the neurotransmitters that control the feelings and emotions that we have. Antidepressants are usually prescribed to help people cope with a major depression that has resulted from an unhealthy life experience such as abuse, bullying, unemployment or trauma.
