Serenity House Inc. has been in operation since 1957 and is located in California. Serenity House Extended Care Program offers comprehensive residential care whose programs classes rules individuals and individual counselors are aimed at the promotion of sobriety in people in early recovery from drug or alcohol addiction. The program offers residential drug treatment and residential alcohol rehab residential treatment centers outpatient treatment group therapy group coaching residential drug detoxification outpatient drug detoxification and residential treatment programs for sex offenders elderly people patients with developmental disabilities and mentally ill patients. Treatment is aimed at integrating recovery skills stopping relapse enhancing emotional functioning promoting positive attitude helping the individual to reintegrate the person into the society of work education and recreation reducing risks for future drug use and dependence strengthening social skills and communication developing and maintaining a healthy relationship with self and others and avoiding alcohol dependency after an alcohol-related event.
The program offers a comprehensive approach to all aspects of drug treatment including inpatient and outpatient treatments residential drug rehabilitation and group therapy. It includes a full range of substance abuse interventions including: detoxification cognitive behavioral therapy family therapy group psychotherapy and one-on-one psychotherapy. The program also provides on-site counseling and 24-hour assistance such as medication reminders and phone calls. The program is licensed by the State Board of Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Services (ASDAS) and is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Behavioral Health Services (CAPHS) in San Francisco. In addition it is fully licensed by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).
