The City of La Cholla is a wonderful place to live work and play. The miles of paved road runs throughout La Cholla starting at Magee Road and ending at Tangerine Drive. It then divided into two sections. The first part of the road was completed in 2020 with the first segment running from Magee Road to Overton Park. The second section runs through Overton Park to Tangerine Drive.
The first section of the road includes the intersection of Magee Road and Tangerine Drive. This intersection was the beginning of the freeway that runs through Overton Park. When the freeway was being built there were still a lot of trees growing around the freeway. This caused a problem because people had to drive over a long period of time on the highway before they could reach their destination. So the developers decided that they would have to cut down some trees and build some new roads. The end result is a huge intersection on the southern edge of Overton Park.
This intersection was one of the first to face traffic issues and it was not easy to get to the freeway. There were not many drivers coming in and out of Overton Park during the evening commute. So drivers would find that they had to wait for the green light on the highway to turn from red to green before they could access the freeway. This is where the La Cholla Loop comes in.
