The Montgomery County MH Authority is a regional body for the purpose of implementing and enforcing the regulation of home insurance in Montgomery County, Maryland. The main aim of this authority is to reduce the amount of unnecessary claims by insurers by allowing homeowners to make claims for all the damage, injuries and medical costs they have sustained due to the negligence of another person or company. The responsibility of the Authority lies with the Maryland Insurance Administration. The Authority is governed by a board of directors who meet regularly and have the power to change the policies of the Authority as well as approve or disapprove the operations of the Authority.\n\n \n\nThe Authority was set up in 1993 and it has helped to increase the level of cover for homeowners in the Montgomery County area. Although it is not compulsory for insurance companies to provide insurance under the Authority, the Association has always insisted that it should be provided if a policyholder feels that he needs it. This is in line with the original purpose of the Authority.\n\n \n\nFor anyone looking to buy a new home or renew an existing home policy, it is a good idea to find a provider in the Montgomery County area.
